August is the time to bring out seed catalogues and start to envision what the garden will look like in the summer. Exciting! This year I am ordering my seeds and seedlings from Diggers, and I would highly recommend it to those looking for quality organic and heirloom seeds. Give your garden a strong and natural start!

You are right Geoff, if asparagus is inactive over the winter, then frost will not harm it. However, if the shoots are coming out and the frost hits, I believe (although there is some disagreement on that) that the shoots, damaged by frost, die off and the plant takes days to produce new shoots.
I don’t think we need to worry about it in Sydney area though 🙂
Hi,
Nice list, but I’ve got to question to “frost tender” attribute on Asparagus. It dies down over winter then comes back in Spring.
